Open Call Galerie XY 2020 – Rezidenční pobyty pro architekty a umělce

Galerie XY nabízí v roce 2020 možnost rezidenčních pobytů pro umělce – absolventy vysokých uměleckých škol a výtvarných oborů, profesionální umělce a architekty přímo v historickém centru města Olomouce. 

Umělci a architekti mohou rezidenční pobyt využít pro výzkum nebo v rámci pokročilé fáze tvorby. Nabízíme zdarma prosvětlený prostor k tvorbě v budově kulturního centra, kde sídlí Galerie XY a Divadlo na cucky. Tvůrčí pobyt bude zakončen veřejnou prezentací celkové tvorby autora v Galerii XY v Olomouci. Po dobu rezidence bude pro rezidenty zajištěno zdarma ubytování, prostor pro tvorbu, produkční a propagační podpora.

Rezidence je určena pro 1–5 osob/skupinu, délka rezidence je 7–20 dní, červenec–prosinec 2020.

Výzva není věkově omezená a rozhodujícími kritérii jsou:

– kvalita předloženého záměru

– propracovanost předložené žádosti

– návaznost na místo, ve kterém bude pobyt realizován

Výzva je otevřená pro umělce z ČR i ze zahraničí.

Při výběru budou zohledněna kritéria umělecké kvality, propracovanosti tvůrčího záměru a návaznost na místo, ve kterém chtějí umělci tvořit. Cílem je vybrat projekty, které budou buď výzkumné nebo s potenciálem bezprostřední realizace ve veřejném prostoru. Vybrány budou dva projekty z oblasti výtvarného umění a dva projekty z oblasti architektury. Výzva je otevřená jak pro jednotlivce, tak pro umělecké skupiny. Výtvarné rezidence budou koncipovány jako “výzkumné” a jejich cílem je výhradně práce na díle bez ohledu na jeho následnou realizaci v bezprostřední časové návaznosti na tvůrčí pobyt. 

V Galerii XY proběhne následná veřejná prezentace celkové tvorby autora. Další dvě z rezidencí určené pro architekty budou zakončeny realizací díla ve veřejném prostoru, uspořádáním master class nebo workshopu.

Rezidenční pobyty budou probíhat od července do prosince 2020, je možné se tedy hlásit průběžně, avšak s dostatečným předstihem vzhledem k preferovanému termínu.

Artists and Architects in Residence 2020

In 2020, the XY Gallery offers the possibility of residencies for artists – graduates of art colleges and art disciplines, professional artists and architects right in the historic centre of Olomouc.

Artists and architects can use the residency for research or use the time in the advanced phase of creation. We offer a free-lit space for creation in the building of the cultural centre, which houses XY Gallery and Divadlo Na Cucky. The creative stay will end with a public presentation of the author’s overall work in XY Gallery in Olomouc. During the residency, artists/architects will be provided with free accommodation, space for creation, production and promotional support.

The residency is designed for 1–5 people, the length of the residency is 7–20 days, July-December 2020.

The challenge is not age-restricted and the application criteria are:

– quality of the submitted project

– well-developed and well-written application submitted

– clear connection to the place of stay realized

The call is open to artists from the Czech Republic and abroad.

The selection will take into account the criteria of artistic quality, sophistication of creative intent and a connection to the place where they want to create. The aim is to select projects that will either be research or will have the potential for immediate implementation in public space. Two projects in the field of fine arts and two projects in the field of architecture will be selected. The call is open to both individuals and artistic groups. Art residencies will be conceived as “research” and their goal is exclusively work on the work, regardless of its subsequent implementation in the immediate vicinity of the creative stay.

A subsequent public presentation of the author’s overall work will take place in the XY Gallery. The other two of the residencies, intended for architects, will end with realization of the work in a public space and the organization of a master class or a workshop.
